Shuriken are traditional Japanese throwing spikes. The spikes we use are made of steel that are either rectangular or round with a sharp point or points.
Shurikenjitsu teaches the proper judging of distance, hand-eye coordination, and the Zen practice of empty-mind (Mushin). At the School of Sword and Staff we throw from many different positions: standing, sitting and walking. Throwing distances range from 6-20 feet.
Keeping your mind calm and relaxed, never to get too excited or disappointed.
Calmness and being able to repeat the perfect throwing motion consistently is required for success.
